Buzz .. buzz.. all three of us responded involuntarily rising from the bed stretching arms into the dark groping for a hold.False alarm for the others , I woke myself up

first , then Jemson and then Praveen. The trip to Ranganathittoo had started off after lazy breakfasts at around 9:00.All through the trip , the backseat driving was

good with good music , conversations , green pleasant sights around and a comfortable seat.Flaunting sugarcane fields on either side of the road brought us to a

halt.We got out of the car to feel the beauty around. All of us being butterfly enthusiasts , we were pleasantly surprised at the easy spotting of Grey pansy( a new

butterfly to my list).Jemson,Pravin and me took out our respective cams and started pointing from the road to the fields below.Around 12 , we reached Ranganathittu.
As soon as we got out of the car , we saw a number of beautiful butterflies. Each of us had an exciting butterflying session near the parking area. After which , we had more butterflying along the lake in Ranganathittu.Ice creams and biscuits served as lunch. The exclusive-to-us-boat ride through the lake was again great with more than a roll shot during the half-hour boat trip.Good things kept on coming the next being a blue-mormon dance show at the violet flower gardens.Inspite of the mormon's flaps being extremely fervent , I shot relentlessly at 2000 shutterspeed hoping for one good snap. That was the fitting finale to a great time at the Ranganathittoo bird sanctuary.
Driven by the wonderful birding session in the Ranganathittoo boat ride , our next target was set to Kokkrebellur which was a pelicanery in a 12

kilometer right offshoot of the mysore road after madhdhoor.Expecting to see a huge number of large pelicans , I hoped the eight films left would suffice. As it turned ,

I have three still left as it was off-season.However , the place being a beautiful village , the trip was not too much a pain to add to which we got quite a few bird snaps

from two of our halts on the way.The next grand note to the trip was the Kolhapuri chicken and butter roti that I had for an early dinner.Around 9 at night, we were

back at our house.Having decided that there will be a trip next weekend as well , the destination remains to be decided.
